Finally found it! A picture from 1983.

I've been looking for a copy of one of my photos for quite some time and I finally found it. Good thing too because the lack of a job and the weather has me depressed. I'm outta gas.

I took this photo in the early-summer of 1983 in Iowa City, IA of the Astro's Little League Baseball Team. I've always loved little league, ever since I played the game which was shortly after they invented the stick (bat).

I'm going to try and follow one team thru their 2010 season and shoot it as a photo-essay. I'll publish some of the results here, most of it on www.parsonsphotos.com and hopefully turn it into a blurb.com book. Most of the pictures will be in black and white.

02-26

Little Boo came out to the airport with me today to check on the painting Glenn had done on the Cub's tail yesterday and to see what he was working on. The wing she's looking at in the bottom wing on the Standard. The tape marks broken ribs which Glenn is replacing.

02-25

The Boo got a new outfit from her Grandmother today. It's her favorite color so she had to try it on immediately. It cracks me up, sometimes she's rough and tough and the next minute she's so girly.

02-23 Singing with the Boo.

We were singing Beatles Rock Band when the Boo came home from her dance lesson and wanted to join in the fun. My wife grabbed my small digital camera and made a video of it from which this frame is taken.

02-22 Painting the tail white.

I don't do paint. Not around the house, not model airplanes and certainly not my real airplane. I pay Glenn to paint my Cub for me. He laid down a base coat of white this morning. Tomorrow I'll go in and sand the rough spots and then he'll paint it yellow either tomorrow afternoon or wednesday.

02-17

Flowers above the kitchen sink.

02-16 Find out on Friday.

The interview went fine, I think. It only lasted 15-20 minutes which is short by most standard but that's how long every pilot who was there lasted. There were 14 of us. We find out on Friday.
This sterotypical view out the window shows an Air Tran B717 and a Continental 737 sitting at their respective gates waiting to board. I had a 9 hour wait to catch my flight home, which ought to tell me something about how badly do I want this job.

02-15 Nervous out of my Skin

I have an interview in Atlanta tomorrow for a flying job . I'm so nervous, I'm nearly crawling out of my skin. This is the view out my hotel window, the Wyndom Garden Inn, Rm 514.

02-14 It can stop snowing any time.

We had a quiet day, mostly at home this Valentines Day. I went out to get us dinner and when I came back, it was snowing snow flakes the size of 50-cent pieces. Huge flakes.

02-11 What a great day.

Lakeview #6
Today was one of those photo-rich days we all are lucky to have every once in a while. I got about 6 photos for my project of Creve Coeur Lake. Everywhere I looked was not just a photo opportunity, but a opportunity to take a great photo. Finally, I picked this one for today.

02-08 Deer by the road.

I was at the hardware store getting some things. Coming back, I turned at the corner of Creve Couer Park and started down the hill towards the Lake when I saw her. Actually, there were 3 of them. I stopped the car, grabbed the camera with my right hand, lowered the passenger window with my left hand. I thought they'd bolt any second. I took several pictures of them just standing there, munching on the grass. These deer are wild, but used to people and cars coming and going to/from the park.

Sky finished his first balsa-wood model, a Guillows Hawker Typhoon yesterday. He had me take this picture for his blog. He's immediately started another model, this one of an Aeronca
Champ.

Little Boo's Birthday Party.

Saturday, Feb.6.
We're celebrating my daughter's birthday today. She'll be 4 next Tuesday. We're having a very small party with just a couple friends over to make her feel special. She's into Disney Princesses right now, so she gets a Princess cake with pink frosting and the Princesses on top of it.
She was so wound up, she couldn't wait for the party. And the look on her face was magical as we all sang "Happy Birthday" to her.

02-05 Lakeview #4

A view overlooking Creve Coeur Lake near the boat ramp. ) That the Page Extension (I-364) in the background which goes over and around the south side of the Lake. Fog and snow flurries today.

02-04 Experiment

It was raining in prelude to a snowstorm tonight when I ventured outside to try and get these drops with my 85mm (135 on digital). I need just a bit faster shutter speed.

02-03 Sometimes it just falls into your lap.

I'd been watching a BBC program about '60's star photographer Brian Duffy and I really liked his portraits. All of sudden, Sky came out to see what I was watching and this just fell into place. Took all of two minutes and most of that was spent trying to find the camera. Thanks to Mike from TOP for the Duffy link.
